About Us

MISSION

The mission of WaterSmart Software is to help water utilities make it easier for their customers to save water and save money. Using our software and services, our utility partners make sure each consumer knows how much water their household is using, how it compares to others and how they can save water and money. Armed with this information, consumers use water more efficiently. Even small gains in water efficiency at the household level translate into significant system-wide savings for the utilities that deploy this least-cost conservation tool.

HISTORY

Rob Steiner and Peter Yolles founded WaterSmart Software in November 2009. With extensive careers focused on water management, they identified a need to apply updated web technology and data management to improve municipal water efficiency.  Their solution achieves improved program effectiveness and utility cost savings through customer feedback and incentives.  WaterSmart was a winner of Imagine H2O’s inaugural water efficiency prize in March 2010.  WaterSmart is based in California and has offices in the San Francisco and San Diego.
