EVALUATION, MEASUREMENT AND VERIFICATION:
WaterSmart works with third-party, independent water conservation professionals to provide evaluation, measurement and verification. We monitor three key metrics:
- Water Consumption: We measure differences in water consumption between A/B groups. The A/B groups are defined as the group of customers who participate in the WaterSmart program and a control group that does not participate.
- Adoption Rates: We measure differences in customer adoption rates of utility-sponsored conservation programs between A/B groups. Sponsored programs are defined by each utility, and may include programs such as toilet retrofit programs, cash for grass rebates, customer participation in water use surveys or other programs you select.
- Awareness, Attitudes and Customer Satisfaction: We measure changes in awareness and attitudes about water use, and customer satisfaction, by conducting customer surveys prior to each pilot and again after the pilot has concluded.
